Give Yourself a Stress Time-Out.

With the holidays coming up and your family suddenly popping into town for lengths of time, we suspect everyone’s stress levels are about to spike, which is why we’ve gathered these tips to cool down.

Stock up on oranges, sweet potatoes, turkey, and green veggies. These foods all contain loads of vitamins proven to release serotonin (the feel-good brain chemical) and other relaxing nutrients to calm our bodies down in times of stress.

Schedule your “me” time. Every day from now until the holidays are over, check out from your mental to-do list and do a mindless activity (i.e. painting your nails, etc.) to let yourself unwind. If you’re skin is looking irritated around this time, switch to gentle moisturizing products to help cope.

Start a deep conditioning treatment for your hair. It’s no secret that stress can lead to hair loss, so ward off fallen strands by incorporating a treatment once a week in your shower routine.

Listen to your face. Stress increases inflammation, so if you see your skin is red, blotchy, or even breaking out, it’s time to give yourself a time-out.
