Less Neck Pain at Work!

Eye Level: Make sure your computer monitor is at eye level, not too high and not too low so you aren’t placing stress on your neck, against where it would naturally rest. You may need to raise your chair or simply adjust your screen but it’s an easy fix that can ease neck pain, so don’t stress!

Phone Time: If you’re on the phone frequently throughout the day, a hands-free headset is ideal, but if you are connected, then make sure you are NOT balancing the phone between your shoulder and ear so your hands are free. This uncomfortable and unnatural position forces your neck muscles on one side to overextend while the muscles on the other side are pinched together. This could leave you in a lot of pain by days end.

Break Time: Make sure you’re taking plenty of breaks throughout the day. Take time to stretch, walk, and relax throughout your day. Stress can build up and cause physical tension which leads to neck pain. It’s not uncommon for chiropractors to treat men and women who are suffering from physical pain that is stress related. So, make time for breaks throughout your day, the movement will be good for your whole body and you’ll be more effective when you return with a better frame of mind.

Neck pain can really slow you down when you need to be at your best. Make sure you’re taking time for yourself each day and making healthy choices that will make for a good work day and less neck pain.
